William T. "Billy" Slater, 58, of Shenandoah, passed away peacefully Thursday March 26 at his residence.

Born in Shenandoah, July 30, 1957, he was a son of the late Robert and Mary Jane Shortridge Slater.

He was of the Protestant faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Grace, and a brother, Robert.

Surviving are a son, Brian Oliver, Shenandoah; two brothers, Gordon Slater, Shenandoah, and Richard Slater, Maryland; a granddaughter; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Prayer and scripture services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. The Rev. Christopher Wollyung, pastor of First United Methodist Church, Shenandoah, will officiate. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. Relatives and friends may call from 8 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
