William H. "Bill" Laudeman, 78, formally of South Jardin Street, Shenandoah died unexpectedly Saturday, January 1, 2022 at Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center, Reading.
Born in Linden, NJ, on July 6, 1943, he was a son of the late William H. Laudeman, Sr. and Theresa (Motylewski) Laudeman.
He was a 1961 graduate of the former Shenandoah Catholic High School.
Bill served his country in the Navy for eight years as a jet engine mechanic and was a Vietnam Veteran.
He was a cross country truck driver for the majority of his working career. The last position he held and from which he retired was as a Corrections Officer at the Schuylkill County Prison, Pottsville.
Bill was a member of the Divine Mercy Church, Shenandoah, where he volunteered with various parish events and activities. He was also a member of the Mahanoy City Elks. He enjoyed fishing, going to the casinos, traveling, the shore and a good steak dinner.
He was preceded in death by his wife of twenty-eight years, Elizabeth C. "Betty" (Higgins) Laudeman; and two brothers, Michael and Joseph.
Surviving are a son, William John Laudeman of Raleigh, NC; sister, Barbara Bartusik wife of Charles of Zion Grove; sister-in-law, Anne Laudeman of Mountain Top; companion, Irene Schlack of Reading; his dear friends, Joseph and Evelyn Dannunizo of Harrisburg and Bob and Betsy Adams of Florida; uncles, an aunt, nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.
Religious services will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow at 12:30 pm at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. A visitation will be held prior to the religious services on Friday morning from 9:30 am until 11:00 am at the funeral home.
