Obituary

William C. Bill Hancock, 77 of Carlisle formerly of Lost Creek passed away peacefully on Friday, June 16, 2017 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill with his daughter and family by his side.

Born in Lost Creek on July 12, 1939 he was a son of the late Leo Richard and Mary Nora (Coyle) Hancock.

Bill attended the former West Mahanoy Township High School, Shenandoah Heights.

He was a heavy equipment operator for the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 542 and worked for West Mahanoy Township on the road crew.

Bill was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah formerly St. Mary Magdalene Church, Lost Creek. He was also a member of Upstate Operating Engineers Association and the former Citizens Fire Company, Lost Creek.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his former wife, Kathryn (Flysta) Hancock; seven brothers and sisters, Meriam Scully, Leo Hancock, Richard Hancock, Robert Hancock, John Hancock, Ronald Hancock and Patricia Price.

Surviving are one daughter, Kathryn R. OConnell and her husband James of Carlisle; one step-son, Albert Kane of York; three grandchildren, Devann Rose, Bryce Patrick and Shane Michael OConnell; nieces, nephews and their families also survive.

Religious services will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2017at 10:30 am in the Annunciation BVM Chapel at the intersection Schuylkill Ave. and Cemetery Road, Shenandoah Heights. A visitation will be held at the Annunciation BVM Chapel from 10:00 am until time of services. Graveside interment will follow the services.

Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah is in charge of the arrangements.
