Violet A. Ushela, 91, a former resident of North Emerick Street, Shenandoah, passed away peacefully Monday night at Shenandoah Senior Living Community, Shenandoah.
Born in Shenandoah, Feb. 16, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Anna Sakalosky Ushela.
She was a graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah. She also attended the McCann School of Business, Mahanoy City.
Violet retired from the former Shen-Heights TV Associates, Shenandoah, as a clerk. Prior to that she worked for the former Western Union in Shenandoah and Pottsville.
Violet was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah, and the former St. George Church, Shenandoah.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, was a brother, Clarence Ushela.
Surviving are a sister-in-law, Carolyn S. Ushela, South Bend, Ind.; two nephews, Charles Ushela and his wife, Pilar, Lima, Peru, and George Ushela, Chicago, Ill.; two nieces, Alice Ann Ushela and Susan Ushela, both of South Bend; two grandnieces, Charlotte and Selene Ushela; two cousins, Eleanor Rooney, Mahanoy City, and Joseph Sakalosky, The Villages, Florida.
Private services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah, is in charge of the arrangements.
