Violet M. (Mizzer) Sedlock, 96, of Shenandoah, passed away Saturday at Shenandoah Senior Living Community.

Born in Shenandoah, November 25, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Anna (Shemansky) Mizzer.

Violet was a graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah.

She was a retired garment worker, having worked in the local garment industry.

Violet was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah, and prior to that a member of the former St. George Church. She was also a member of the ILGWU. Violet enjoyed trips shopping and to the casinos. Above all, she treasured the time spent with her family.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Edward F. Sedlock, in 1994, the former director of the Schuylkill County Bureau of Elections; her two sons, Edward A. Sedlock and Ronald F. Sedlock; a brother, Anthony; three sisters, Julia, Mary and Anna.

Surviving are her two granddaughters, Helene M. Israel and her husband, Michael, Royersford, and Rose T. Sedlock, Emmaus; three great-grandchildren, Christopher, Melissa and Stephen Israel; her daughter-in-law, Rosemarie Sedlock, Frackville; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday from Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. in Divine Mercy Church, Shenandoah, with Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Dawn Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. A viewing will be held from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
