Violet T. (Gudonis) Yanushefsky, age 82 of 425 Lake Drive, Nesquehoning formerly of Texas Ave., Shenandoah Heights passed away Monday at St. Lukes Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale.
Born in Girardville on April 18, 1929 she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Mildred (Ambrose)Gudonis.
Violet was a graduate of the former Girardville High School.
Prior to her retirement, she worked for 27 years in the Shenandoah garment industry.
She was a member of St. Georges Church, Shenandoah, the Greater Shenandoah Area Senior Citizens; Knights of Lithuania Council #144, ILGWU, St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Tamaqua and the Panther Valley Senior Citizens.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was a brother, John Gudonis.
Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Joseph J. Yanushefsky, Sr., residing with his son, Joseph J. Yanushefsky, Jr. and his wife Mary Louise of Nesquehoning; two brothers, Joseph Gudonis and his wife Theresa of Girardville and Albert Gudonis and his wife Olga of Plymouth, MA; a sister, Anna Bolusky of Gilberton; two beloved and cherished grandchildren, Joseph J. Yanushefsky, III and Janelle and her husband Stephen Chatcavage all of Nesquehoning; nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday morning at 9:30 am from Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Saturday in Annunciation BVM Church, Shenandoah. Rev. Msgr. Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Dawn Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, Shenandoah is in charge of the arrangements.
