Victor P. "Vic" Marconi, 83, of 271 Raven Run Road, passed away peacefully Saturday morning at his residence surrounded by his loving family and devoted friends.

Born and raised in Raven Run, Aug. 5, 1931, he was a son of the late Dominick and Rose Greco Marconi.

He was a 1949 graduate of the former West Mahanoy Township High School.

Mr. Marconi was anArmy veteran during the Korean War where he served in the Military Police (MP). He recieved the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.

Vic was a retired business owner of Vic's Auto Body, Shenandoah, where he proudly served the community for more than 50 years.

He was a member of the Divine Mercy Church, Shenandoah and the former St. Mary Magdalen Roman Catholic Church, Lost Creek.

Vic was a hard-working, generous and loving man who took pride in his accomplishments and instilled in his family values and traditions. He had quite the green thumb: Every summer begonias meticulously cascaded his lawn.

Vic was a sports enthusiast and former Penn State football season ticket holder. He was also an avid fisherman who took annual fishing trips to upstate New York.

He was the former sponsor and manager of the Vic's Auto Body softball team where many memories were made on the diamond that bears his name. Vic touched the lives of many.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor, in 2002; two brothers, Vincent and Conjizo.

Surviving are three loving daughters, Victoria Polosky and her husband, Walter, Raven Run, Marianne McAndrew and her husband, Thomas, Ashland and Michele Marnell, Raven Run; six adoring grandchildren, Nicole, Gregory, Tyler, Christopher, Taylor and Mackenzie; one brother, Francis "Jake" Marconi and his wife, Shirley, Ringtown; one sister, Catherine Campanicki and her husband, Carmen, Dover, Del.; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Friday in Divine Mercy Church, 232 W. Cherry St., Shenandoah. Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, pastor, will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.

Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 9 a.m. Friday at Divine Mercy Church.
