Thomas J. "Tim" O'Rourke, 82 formerly of Shenandoah Heights passed on Monday evening, June 20, 2022 at Arden Courts of Susquehanna, Harrisburg. Born in Shenandoah on April 21, 1940 he was a son of the late Cpl. Laurence and Margaret (Thomas) O'Rourke. Tim was a 1957 graduate of the former West Mahanoy Township High School, Shenandoah Heights. He retired from the State of Pennsylvania as a state vehicle inspector in general services. Earlier in life, he was employed in sales for Ateeco Inc., Mrs. T's Pierogies, Shenandoah. Tim was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah and the former Annunciation BVM Church. He was a former member of the Shenandoah Heights Fire Company and the Glovers Hill Athletic Club, Shenandoah. He was a supporter of the Schuylkill County Notre Dame Club. Tim was an avid sports fan and was devoted to Notre Dame football. He made a yearly trip to South Bend, Indiana to see his beloved team play. He was an avid runner having participated in many local runs including the annual Coal Cracker 10k. Tim loved animals, especially his beloved dogs, "Asti" and "Mara". Above all, he treasured the time spent with his family and friends. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents was his nephew, Larry D. O'Rourke. Surviving are his daughter, Heather M. O'Rourke and her fiancé Chad Baker of Camp Hill; his son, Sean O'Rourke of Florida; his brother, Larry O'Rourke and his wife Joyce of Orwigsburg; his niece, Jennifer Brueninghaus and her husband Carsten of Superior, Wisconsin with their twin sons, Ryan and Sean Brueninghaus; cousins and many friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 27, 2022 at 10:00 am in Divine Mercy Church, 232 West Cherry Street, Shenandoah with Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor as the celebrant. Interment will follow in Annunciation BVM Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. A visitation will be held on Monday morning from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at Divine Mercy Church.
