Selma A. (Schwetz) Swartz, 83, formerly of West New York Street, Shenandoah, passed away peacefully early Monday morning at Shenandoah Senior Living Community.

Born in Shenandoah, April 7, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Simon D. and Adella Lavitsky Schwetz.

Selma was a licensed practical nurse and worked in the health care field prior to her retirement.

She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah, and, prior to that, was a member of the former Annunciation BVM Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Leonard Schwetz.

Surviving are a niece, Marian A. March, Boca Raton, Fla.; her caregiver, Antoinette Pancerella, Shenandoah.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Old St. Casimir's Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, pastor, will officiate.

Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah, is in charge of the arrangements.
