Rosemary D. (Gemetro) Guida, 76, of Shenandoah passed away on Sunday, December 18th, 2022, at the Shenandoah Senior Living Community surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Hazleton on December 12th, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Max and Rose (Mussoline) Gemetro. In addition to her parents, Rosemary's former husbands, John Maskornick and Angelo Guida, preceded her in death.
Rosemary was a 1964 graduate of Hazleton Area High School. After graduating, Rosemary worked various jobs throughout her life. Along with her former husband, Angelo, she was the co-founder and owner of Rose's Novelty Shop in downtown Shenandoah in the early 1980s. Following the shop's closure, Rosemary dedicated her life to caring for children at the Villa Daycare in Shenandoah followed by her final place of employment at the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store in Frackville, PA. In addition to her work life, Rosemary was a devout member of the Divine Mercy Parish in Shenandoah and was a dedicated member of the Glover's Hill Ladies' Auxiliary Organization. Rosemary had a heart of gold and welcomed everyone with open arms.
Rosemary leaves behind her children, John (Sherri) Maskornick, Angela (Scott) Roguskie, and Ralph (Donna) Guida. Surviving grandchildren include – Mallory (Maskornick) Savakinas, Angelo Maskornick, Rocco Roguskie, Rachael Roguskie, Mark Guida, Nick Guida, and Renee (Guida) Morrison. She is also survived by five great grandchildren along with various nieces and nephews. Rosemary is survived by her two sisters, Donna Kelly (wife of the late Bob) and Nancy (Charles) Ecker.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend religious services on Tuesday, December 27th, 2022 at 10:00 am at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 South Jardin Street, Shenandoah with Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian officiating, Pastor. A visitation will be held prior to the service on Tuesday from 8:00 am until 10:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow services in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
