Robert E. "Bobby" Kubilis, 80 of Shenandoah Heights, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Schuylkill East Norwegian Street, Pottsville.
Born in Shenandoah on August 3, 1943, he was a son of the late Edward and Mary (Palavage) Kubilis.
He was a graduate of Moorestown High School, Moorestown, NJ.
Mr. Kubilis was a decorated Navy veteran having served during the Vietnam era. He received the Good Conduct Medal.
He was a retired boiler maker having worked for the International Brotherhood of Boiler Makers Local #13, Philadelphia. He was of the Catholic faith.
Bobby was a talented handyman, always willing to help anyone. He was always seen repairing or building something for family friends and neighbors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family. But above all, he was a great family man and especially enjoyed activities and holidays with his wife, children, grandchildren, and extended family members.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his baby brother, Edward and a sister, Sandra Coruzzi.
Surviving are his wife, the former Darlene Cortright of forty-five years; two sons, Robert G. Kubilis and his partner Angie Duran of Weston, Florida and Edward F. Kubilis and his wife Carolyn of Leonardo, NJ; one daughter, Dawn L. Packer and her husband John of Harrisburg; eight grandchildren, John, Andrew & Elizabeth Packer, Reks, Tierney & Vivian Kubilis, and Ana & Penelope Mueses; one great-grandson, Bryce Packer; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Religious services will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023 at 10:00 am at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin Street, Shenandoah with Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. A visitation will be held on Monday morning from 8:00 am until 10:00 am at the funeral home.
