Rick L. DiNofa, age 60 of Shenandoah Heights passed away peacefully Wednesday evening at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born in Philadelphia on January 29, 1954 he was a son of the late John and Irene (Redman) DiNofa.
He was a graduate of Frankford High School, Philadelphia.
Rick was a decorated Army veteran during the Vietnam era. He received the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the Expert Rifle (M-16A1) award.
Prior to his retirement he worked for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission in maintenance and as a toll collector. He was a member of the Teamsters Union.
Rick was a devoted husband, loving father and poppy and a friend to all.
Surviving are his wife of 40 years the former Edna Hopkins; two sons, Joseph R. DiNofa and his fianc, Corrie, Philadelphia and Richard A. DiNofa and his wife Heather, Sarasota, Florida; one step-son, Kenny Day and his wife Janice, Philadelphia; seven grandchildren, Danielle, Angalina, Aliyah, Chase, Hunter, Giavanna and Adrianna Ace ; two brothers, Jack DiNofa and his wife Betty, Ephrata and Bob DiNofa and his wife Mary, Zion Grove; one sister, Barbara Babs Fratto and her husband Frank, Philadelphia; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Kober, Levittown and Joann Manning, Florida; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Prayer and scripture services with military honors will be held Wednesday at 1:00 pm at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. Rev. Msgr. Ronald C. Bocian will officiate. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday at the funeral home from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
