Obituary

Raymond Daniel Price, 76, of Lost Creek, passed away peacefully at the home of his daughter, Deborah Pavlick, in Catawissa on Friday evening.

Born in Tamanend, April 9, 1940, he was a son of the late George and Hazel Bowman Price.

Ray was a 1959 graduate of the former Mahanoy City High School.

He retired in 2002 after a 40-year career as a mechanic for the former A&E Hanger, Ringtown.

Ray was a member of the former St. Mary Magdalene Church, Lost Creek. He was an avid pool shooter and enjoyed watching old western movies and listening to fifties music. He also enjoyed watching his favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys.

Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his wife, the former Patricia Hancock, in 1986; three brothers, Calvin, Donald and Richard Price; two sisters, Shirley Flail and Jaclyn Siebert.

Surviving are his companion, Betty; a daughter, Deborah Pavlick and her companion, James Becker, Catawissa; a granddaughter, Brooke Zeluskey and her husband, Alexander, Mount Carmel; a grandson, Cody Pavlick, Catawissa; a brother, George Price and his wife, Kathryn, Mahanoy City; four sisters, Patricia Price, Hamburg, Sharon Longenberger and her husband, Michael Mahanoy City, Robin Jones and Denise Owen, both of Tennessee; nieces and nephews. Ray was anxiously awaiting the birth of his first great-grandchild, Xander Ray Zeluskey, due to arrive in December.

Religious services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. The Rev. Msgr. Ronald C. Bocian will officiate.

Relatives and friends may call from noon until the time of services Saturday at the funeral home.

Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, Shenandoah, is in charge of the arrangements.
