Owen J. Roberts, 79, of Shenandoah, passed away Thursday at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street.

Born in Shenandoah, Aug. 16, 1935, he was a son of the late David and Adele Kuchinsky Roberts.

He was a 1953 graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah.

Mr. Roberts was an Air Force veteran.Owen was last employed by Ateeco Inc., Mrs. T's Pierogies, Shenandoah.

He was a member of the former First Baptist Church, Shenandoah.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were one brother, David J. Roberts Jr., and one sister, Elizabeth Kieres.

Surviving are two sisters, Agnes Hopkins and Jean Twardzik and her husband, Theodore "Ted," all of Shenandoah; nieces and nephews.

Prayer and scripture services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. His nephew, the Rev. David J. Roberts III, will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
