Olga (Melnick) Boyuka, age 90, a former resident of Weston Place, Shenandoah died Sunday evening at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg where she resided.

Born in Shenandoah on June 21, 1922 she was a daughter of the late Simon and Anna (Sulosky) Melnick.

She was a member of St. Michaels Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Shenandoah and the ILGWU.

Mrs. Boyuka was a retired garment worker having worked in the Shenandoah garment industry. Earlier she worked for General Cigar Factory, Mahanoy City.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband Harry Boyuka; a daughter, Theresa Ligenza; two brothers, John and Joseph Melnick and three sisters, Pauline Roman, Mildred Chowansky and Dorothy Evanousky.

Surviving are a son, Joseph Boyuka and his wife Beth of Jackson, NJ; two daughters, Lucille Thomas and her husband Ronald of Orwigsburg and Mary Ann Damato and her husband Neil of Chester Springs; a son-in-law, Joseph Ligenza, Sr. of Tamaqua; a sister, Ann Milefsky of Ringtown; eight grandchildren, Danelle Kane, Joseph Ligenza, Jr., Jessica and Stephanie Boyuka, Matthew Thomas, Jaclyn, Katherine and Nicholas Damato; four great-grandchildren, Makenna and Luke Kane and Mason and Lauren Ligenza; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Parastas services will be held 9:30 am Thursday at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 am Thursday in St. Michaels Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Shenandoah. Msgr. Myron Grabowsky, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 8:00 am to 9:30 am Thursday morning.
