Nancy Lynn (George) Yablonsky, 53, of Shenandoah Heights, passed away peacefully on Sunday at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Shenandoah, July 1, 1964, she was a daughter of the late Harry George and Elizabeth "Betty" (McGuire) George Dower.
Nancy was a 1982 graduate of Shenandoah Valley High School.
She was a Navy veteran and was last employed at Jeld-Wen, Ringtown.
Nancy was a member of the former AMVETS Post, Shenandoah. Family always came first in her life and she was greatly devoted to them, especially as mother to her sons. She was very kind and considerate and always offered a helping hand to anyone that she could. In addition, she was very active with and coached for the Shenandoah Area Youth Soccer Association, Lost Creek.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Paul T. Yablonsky; a son, Matthew Yablonsky; a grandson, Ethan Yablonsky; a brother, Harry George.
Surviving are three sons, Brandon Yablonsky and his wife, Kendra, Girardville, Michael Yablonsky and Tyler Yablonsky, both of Shenandoah Heights; three brothers, Robert George and his wife, Amy, Clarksville, Tenn., Frank George with Terri Davidson, Shenandoah, and Michael George and his wife, Ingrid, Front Royal, Va.; her stepfather, William S. Dower, Shenandoah; her father-in-law, Paul S. Yablonsky, Shenandoah Heights; uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to a religious service at 11 a.m. Friday at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. The Rev. Mindy Heppe will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Casimir's Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. A viewing will be held from 9 until 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, Shenandoah, is in charge of the arrangements.
