Michael J. "Mickey" Colosimo Jr., 73, of Shenandoah, passed away Friday at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born in Shenandoah, Sept. 18, 1943, he was a son of the late Michael J. Sr. and the late Marie Dougert Colosimo.

Prior to his retirement, he worked as a security guard for JMB Security, Gilberton. Earlier he was employed for 20 years at Ateeco Inc., Mrs. T's Pierogies, Shenandoah.

On Sept. 20, 1982, he married the former Deborah A. Barlow, who survives.

Mickey was a member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, Shenandoah, and the 500 Fish and Game Club, Zion Grove. Earlier he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved animals, having rescued and greatly cared for many cats and dogs throughout his life.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, was a brother, Julian "Butchie" Colosimo.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of almost 35 years, Deborah A. "Debbie" Colosimo, are a daughter, Dawn Nott, Berkeley, Calif.; two brothers, Joseph Colosimo and his wife, Diane, Shenandoah, and Robert "Bobby" Colosimo, Shenandoah; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Zajac Barlow, Shenandoah; a sister-in-law, Ann Louise Colosimo, Shenandoah; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah, is in charge of the arrangements.
