Mary Ann (Perlinsky) McCauley RN, 80 formerly of Shenandoah and Harrisburg passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Green Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Pottsville. Born in Shenandoah on February 21, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Veronica (Butrymovicz) Perlinsky. She was a graduate of the former Saint Casimir elementary school and the former Shenandoah Catholic High School. She was also a graduate of the Geisinger School of Nursing having attained her degree as a Registered Nurse (RN). Upon graduation, she began her career in nursing at Lankenau Hospital, Philadelphia. Having returned to Shenandoah, she then worked at the former Locust Mountain State Hospital, Shenandoah Heights. After a thirty plus year career, Mary Ann retired from the Harrisburg State Hospital. She married Walter J. McCauley and they resided in Harrisburg for over thirty-years. Walter preceded her in death on July 20, 2009. Mary Ann was a devout member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah and the former Saint Casimir Church. She enjoyed shopping, especially for bargains; she was always elegantly dressed. Preceding her in death in addition to her parents and husband were her sisters, Dorothy Zelenak and Florence Caulfield. Surviving are her niece and nephews, Francine C. Blouch, William J. Caulfield Jr. and George Christopher Zelenak and their spouses and children. Religious services will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 10:00 am at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 South Jardin Street, Shenandoah with Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor officiating. Interment will follow in Saint Casimir's Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. A viewing will be held on Wednesday morning from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at the funeral home.
