Mary "Marie" M. McLaughlin, 92, formerly of East Oak Street, Shenandoah, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at the Shenandoah Senior Living Community. Born on September 2, 1930 in Shenandoah, she was the daughter of the late John and Nellie (Kadlubauskas) Macknis. Mary was the wife of the late John McLaughlin who preceded her in death in 1994. She was a retired garment worker and was a member of the ILGWU. Mary was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah and the former of Annunciation BVM Church. She was also a member of the Moose Ladies Auxiliary. Mary loved to cook for her family especially on birthdays and holidays. She was a casino bunny, always eager to hop a bus to Atlantic City with her husband and their many good friends. She was always ready for a good joke and a good laugh. Above all else, her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her greatest joy in life. In addition to her parents and her husband, John, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Guers. Surviving are her son, Robert McLaughlin and his wife Helene; her daughter, Marie Manbeck and her companion William Tomcavage; four grandchildren, Robert McLaughlin and his wife Karen, Antony Cuff, Kelly Getz and her husband Mark, and Gina Morgan and her husband Luke; seven great grandchildren, Kira, Aubrey and Dylan Getz, Katie and Cari McLaughlin, and Thomas and Emily Carpenito; her brother, John Macknis; brother-in-law, John Guers, Sr.; nephew, John Guers and his wife Donna; two nieces, Cindy Schaffer and Cheryl Ambrose and her companion Clyde Fisher. Religious services will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 10:30 am at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 South Jardin Street, Shenandoah with Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian officiating. Interment will follow in Annunciation BVM Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. Visitation will be held on Thursday morning prior to the services from 9:00 am until 10:30 am at the funeral home.
