Mary E. Laurette, 69 of Mahanoy City formerly of Shenandoah passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at St. Luke's Hospital-Miners Campus, Coaldale. Born in Shenandoah on October 11, 1952, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Margaret (Monahan) Laurette. She was a graduate of Shenandoah Valley High School. Mary was employed at the former Locust Mountain State Hospital, Shenandoah Heights, the former Harris Bakery and the former Father Walter J. Ciszek School both of Shenandoah. She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah formerly Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and the Glovers Hill Athletic Club, Shenandoah. Mary was an avid bingo player and enjoyed going to the local casinos. Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her two sisters, Anella J. Laurette on November 27, 2017 and Margaret A. Laurette on August 5, 2020. Surviving are cousins and many friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, February 14, 2022 at 10:00 am in Divine Mercy Church, Shenandoah with Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor as the celebrant. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. Donations will be accepted by the funeral home to help defray burial costs.
