Mary Ellen (Galenis) Yesecavage, 91 formerly of Shenandoah passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Saint Luke's Hospital Miners Campus Skilled Nursing Facility, Coaldale. Born in Lost Creek #2 on August 13, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Tessie (Vesuskie) Galenis. She was a graduate of the former West Mahanoy Township High School and was also a graduate of the Empire School of Cosmetology, Pottsville. Mary Ellen was a licensed beautician. Earlier in life, she owned and operated her own beauty shop in Girardville. Prior to her retirement, she worked for the former Mrs. Arnold's Beauty Shop, Shenandoah. She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah formerly Saint George's Church. Mary Ellen was often seen in the former King Kruller Donut Shop, Shenandoah socializing with her many friends. Above all and of most importance to her was spending time and enjoying the company of her family. Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were here husband, Edward C. Yesecavage, Sr. in 1979; three sisters, Dorothy, Alice and Eleanor; and one brother, Edward. Surviving are her son Edward C. Yescavage, Jr. and his wife Penny of Harrisburg; one grandson, EJ Yescavage of Coaldale; one great-grandson, Brayden; her niece and goddaughter, Carol Kalavage of Shenandoah; additional nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 14, 2020 at 10:00 am in Divine Mercy Church, 232 West Cherry Street, Shenandoah with Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor as the celebrant. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Dawn Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. A visitation for relatives and friends will be held on Monday morning from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at the church. All state and federal COVID-19 guidelines and regulations will be observed; masks and social distancing will be required. Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S.
