Obituary

Mary (Walukiewicz) Barno, 96, formerly of the Shenandoah High Rise and a resident of the Shenandoah Senior Living Community, passed away peacefully Sunday evening.

Born in Shenandoah, Aug. 20, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Eva (Mizzer) Walukiewicz.

Prior to her retirement, she worked at the former Sorin's Inc., Shenandoah, as a cloth cutter.

Mary was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah and the former St. George's Church, Shenandoah.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Peter Barno Sr.; a son, Peter Barno Jr.; a daughter, Anne Marie Barno; two brothers, Joseph and Anthony Walukiewicz; two sisters, Leona Howchick and Violet Dudash.

Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Millholland and her husband, William, Gaithersburg, Md., and Helen Manus and her husband, Chris, Kalamazoo, Mich.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; niece and caregiver, Linda Dower, Ringtown; additional nieces, nephews and cousins.

Religious services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Old St. George Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. Relatives may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
