Marion D. (Dudis) Andrews, 86, of Pattersonville, Ringtown, passed away Saturday, Dec. 26, 2020, at Mountain City Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Hazle Township.
Born Aug. 24, 1934, in Shenandoah, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Victoria (Kordecki) Magnis Dudis.
She was a 1952 graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah.
Upon her graduation, she was employed by Bell Telephone Co., Philadelphia. Upon returning to the area, she worked for the former Horowitz Leather Goods, Shenandoah, Ringtown Manufacturing, General Cigar Co., Mahanoy City, and Alma Dress Co., Shenandoah.
Marion was a member of St. Mary's Church, Ringtown. She was past president and past vice president of the former Ringtown Women's Club. She served on the election board for Union Township as minority inspector for 35 years. She was also a member of the ILGWU, Women of the Moose and Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Andrews Sr., in 1980; two sisters, Marcella (Magnis) Gutswa, and an infant at birth, Florence Magnis; two brothers, Leonard Magnis, and an infant at birth, Eugene; one niece, Deborah Magnis; one sister-in-law, Doris (Romanuski) Magnis; one brother-in-law, Theodore Gutswa.
Surviving are one son, Anthony J. Andrews Jr. and his wife, Lynn, of Hazle Township; two grandsons, Tony Joe Andrews and Kyle Andrews; one brother, Joseph Dudis and his wife, Mary, of Bound Brook, N.J.; nieces; nephews; her caregivers and good friends, Lillian, Theresa, Crystal and all others who help Marion; her cat, Whiskers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 10:00 am in St. Mary's Church, 82 N. Center St., Ringtown, with the Rev. Dominic Thao Pham, Pastor as the celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Casimir's Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. All state and federal COVID-19 guidelines and regulations will be observed, including masking and social distancing.
