Obituary

Marilyn E. (OBrien) Nork, age 84 of Shenandoah passed away Monday morning after a brief illness at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Allentown with her loving family by her side.

Born in West Orange, NJ on August 5, 1929 she was the daughter of the late James and Sarah (Waak) OBrien.

Marilyn was a 1947 graduate of Shenandoah Catholic High School.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening; above all, she cherished the time spent with her family. Marilyn was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was greatly delighted when her family gathered together during holidays and special occasions.

She was a member of Annunciation BVM Church, Shenandoah and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Annunciation, Shenandoah for over 40 years.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband, Frank P. Nork, Sr. on December 20, 2010 and her granddaughter, Patti Ann Nork on January 7, 2012.

Surviving are three sons, Frank P. Nork, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Shenandoah Heights, Thomas J. Nork and his wife Nancy of Shenandoah and Robert J. Nork at home; two daughters Ann Louise wife of David Toborowski of Media and Marilyn M. wife of Terence Stewart of Metuchen, NJ; seven grandchildren, Frank A. and Paul Nork, Nancy Nork, Cheri Macknis (Dave) and Kristy Nork and Sarah and Ashley Toborowski; three great-granddaughters, Kaitlyn Doyle, Victoria Nork and Callie Macknis; one brother, James Joe OBrien and his companion Linda Kelley of Stanley, NY; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9:30 am from Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:00 am in the Annunciation BVM Church, Shenandoah. Rev. Msgr. Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in Annunciation BVM Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, Shenandoah is in charge of the arrangements.
