Marie P. (Sakowski) Kull, 90, a former resident of South West Street, Shenandoah, passed away peacefully early Friday morning at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg.
Born in Shenandoah, Oct. 30, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Pearl (Skorupski) Sakowski.
Marie was a 1944 graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah.
She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah, and prior to that was a devout member of the former St. Stanislaus Church, Shenandoah, where she attended Mass daily and volunteered for many parish functions. She was also a former member of the Polish Ladies Social Club and the Greater Shenandoah Area Senior Citizens.
Marie was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, William Kull Sr., in 1998; her son, Billy Kull Jr., in 1958; twin great-granddaughters, Jennifer and Jessica Chrin, in 2008; two brothers, John and Joseph Sakowski.
Surviving are her daughter, Sharon M. Chrin and her husband, John, who was like a son to Marie, Frackville; two grandsons, Jeff Chrin and his wife, Tammy, Schuylkill Haven, with their daughter, Marie's great-granddaughter, Tina Chrin, and Jason Chrin and his wife, Kara, Quakertown; her godson, the Rev. John Sakowski, San Francisco, Calif.; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in Divine Mercy Church, 230 W. Cherry St., Shenandoah. Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 9 until 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah, is in charge of the arrangements.
