Marie Mikita, 88 of New York, NY passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at her residence. Born in Shenandoah on April 21, 1934, she was a daughter of the late John and Loretta (Radzai) Mikita. Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were three sisters, Geraldine "Gerry Zuber" Zubowicz, Bernadine "Mickey" Kamel and Jacqueline Nealon. Surviving are her sister, Lorraine Passerelli of Lakewood, NJ; two nephews, John A. Mikita of San Francisco, CA and Sherif Kamel and his wife Jeanie of Exton; niece, Sherry Squierdo and her husband Thomas of Pine Grove; and additional relatives of the Nealon family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 6, 2023 at 10:00 am in Divine Mercy Church, 232 West Cherry Street, Shenandoah with Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor as the celebrant. Interment will follow in Saint Stanislaus Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. Visitation will be held prior to the Mass from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at Divine Mercy Church.
