Margaret A. (Swies) Smith, age 78 of Atlantic City and a former resident of Shenandoah passed away Thursday evening at Lehigh Valley Medical Center-Cedar Crest.

Born in Shenandoah on October 8, 1934 she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret (McGee) Swies.

She was a retired waitress from Ballys Casino, Atlantic City, NJ.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents was a grandson, Joseph Thomas, Jr.

Surviving are a daughter, Margaret E. Peggy Thomas and her husband, Joseph of Atlantic City, NJ; five grandchildren, John Eck and his wife Beth Anne of Florida, Samuel Thomas of Florida, Anthony Eck, David Thomas and Daniel Thomas all of New Jersey; twelve great-grandchildren; an aunt, Loretta Feeley of Shenandoah and cousins residing in the Shenandoah area.

Religious services will be held Thursday at 11:00 am at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. Rev. Thomas Brown of the Redemption Ministries will officiate.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 10:00 am until time of services.
