Obituary

Margaret B. "Margie" (Anisczyk) Tomchick, 86 of Shenandoah passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at her residence. Born in Shenandoah on March 22, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Rose (Dombrowski) Anisczyk. Margaret was a 1954 graduate of the former West Mahanoy Township High School, Shenandoah Heights. Prior to her retirement, Margaret was last employed at the former Sears Department Store, Frackville. Earlier in life, she was employed in the local garment industry. She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah and the former Saint Stanislaus Church. She was also a member of the ILGWU. Margie was a devout Catholic having watched EWTN daily. She also prayed the Rosary and the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy as well as the many prayers in her prayer book; she lived this special devotion everyday of her life. She enjoyed the time spent with her family and friends which brought her great joy. Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband, Leonard J. "Lenny" Tomchick, Sr. on April 18, 2015; two brothers and ten sisters including Patricia S. "Pat" Cieslukowski. Surviving are her son, Leonard J. Tomchick, Jr. and his wife Josephine of Dallastown; two grandchildren, Amy Newcomer and her husband Corey of York and Joseph Tomchick and his wife Ashley of York; six great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at 10:00 am in Divine Mercy Church, 232 W. Cherry St., Shenandoah with Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor as the celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Casimir Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. A viewing will be held on Wednesday morning from 9:00 am until 10:00 am in Divine Mercy Church. Expressions of sympathy in Margie's name can be made to Divine Mercy Church or the Father Walter J. Ciszek Chapel Fund, both in care of 108 West Cherry Street, Shenandoah, PA 17976.
