Margaret Margie (Hudock) Shearn, age 89 of 505 Indiana Ave., Shenandoah Heights, where she resided with her daughter Debbie Barlow and son-in-law, Tom and granddaughter Jamie passed away Wednesday at Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian St., Pottsville. Mrs. Shearn was a former resident of W. Oak St., Shenandoah.

Born in William Penn (Lower Shaft), West Mahanoy Township on May 17, 1922 she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Chervaniak) Hudock.

She was educated in the former West Mahanoy Township Schools.

Margie was a member of St. Stephens Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the parish. She was member and former secretary of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association and the Greater Shenandoah Area Senior Citizens.

She was an avid Philadelphia Phillies Fan and enjoyed her many trips to the casinos.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband James T. Shearn; a son, James Dimber Shearn; two brothers, John Jerry Hudock and Andrew J. Hudock; and two sisters, Elizabeth Hilbert and Helen Kubeldis.

Surviving in addition to her daughter, Debbie are daughters, Virginia Ginny Makarczyk of Shenandoah and Rose wife of Frank Grutza of Brooklyn, NY; a son, Joseph Shearn and his wife Ann of Hoboken, NJ; eleven grandchildren, Jamie, Jennifer, Frank, Michael, Ann Marie, Michele, Donna, Terri, Joseph, Joanne and Kimberly; fourteen great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning at 9:30 am from Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am in St. Casimir Church, Shenandoah. Rev. Msgr. Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Stephens Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Saturday morning from 8:30 am to 9:30 am.
