Obituary

Lucy R. (Rauco) Kolonsky, 83, of Shenandoah, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening.

Born in Shenandoah, June 10, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Angelo and Rose Parasassi Rauco.

She was a graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah.

Prior to her retirement, she worked as a police dispatcher and clerk for the Borough of Shenandoah.

Lucy was a member of Divine Mercy Roman Catholic Parish, Shenandoah, and the former of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Shenandoah. She was also a member of the Greater Shenandoah Area Senior Citizens.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her husband, Edward J. "Babe" Kolonsky Sr., on Feb. 26, 2015; a son, Edward D. Kolonsky; and a sister, Angeline "Angie" Burba.

Surviving are her son, Dr. Edward J. Kolonsky Jr. and his wife, Johanna, Shenandoah; two grandchildren, Maria Kolonsky, Annapolis, Md., and Edward J. "E.J." Kolonsky III, Shenandoah; two brothers, Anthony "Tony" Rauco, Shenandoah, and Rudolph "Rudy" Rauco and his wife, Rose, The Villages, Fla.; two sisters, Lillian Traino, Marlton, N.J. and Theresa Kolonsky, Shenandoah; nieces and nephews.

Private services and interment in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights, will be held at the convenience of the family. Expressions of sympathy can be made to Trinity Academy, 233 W. Cherry St., Shenandoah, PA 17976 or Marian High School Music Department, 166 Marian Ave., Tamaqua, PA 18252.

Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin Street, Shenandoah, is in charge of the arrangements.
