Louis G. Cicioni, 81, a longtime resident of Lower William Penn, Shenandoah, went home to be with our Lord on Wednesday morning at Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street.
Born in Shenandoah, Oct. 21, 1934, he was a son of the late Gregory and Nellie Musonius Cicioni.
Louis was anArmy veteran.
He was a retired union concrete finisher. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the Laborers Local 158 and the Pennsylvania Heavy and Highway Union for over 35 years. He was talented in concrete and brickwork and gladly shared his knowledge with family and friends.
He was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah, formerly St. Stephen and St. George Churches, both of Shenandoah. Louis was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed attending family events and activities with his family. He and his wife enjoyed many trips to the local casinos. He was a skilled mechanic and enjoyed working on lawnmowers, cars and trucks.
On June 7, 1958, in the former St. George Church, Shenandoah, he married the former Alice J. Wychulis, who survives.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were four brothers, Bernard, Joseph, Albert and Edward; a sister, Louise.
In addition to his wife of 58 years, he is survived by a daughter, Shirley Antonini and her husband, Robert, Schuylkill Haven; three grandchildren, Angelique Antonini, Antoinette Antonini and Robert Antonini II; a brother, Gregory Cicioni, Shenandoah; two sisters, Catherine Michalik and her husband, Edward, Shenandoah, and Mary Wishnefsky, Shenandoah; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday in Divine Mercy Church, 230 West Cherry St., Shenandoah. The Rev. Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, pastor, will officiate. Entombment with militaryhonorswill follow in Calvary Hill Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. Relatives and friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Divine Mercy Church.
Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah, is in charge of the arrangements.
