Obituary

Lorraine G. "Sissy" Dombrosky, 83 of Shenandoah passed away on Monday, June 5, 2023 at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest, Allentown. Born in Shenandoah on August 9, 1939, she was the daughter of the late John and Sophie (Swatski) Melnick. She was a 1958 graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah. On July 9, 1961, she married the love of her life, Robert T. Dombrosky in St. Casimir's Church Shenandoah. They were married 57 years until Robert's passing on August 29, 2018. Lorraine worked at the former Martin Shirt Factory, Shenandoah and was a member of ALU. Lorraine lived a full life with her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed the outdoors with her husband, often found fishing on the lake or in the woods searching for mushrooms. She had many friends and enjoyed playing cards and bus trips to the casinos. Later in life she loved attending events involving her grandchildren, "Nanny", as they called her, was accompanied by "Pop-Pop", they never missed a game, recital, graduation etc. In addition to her parents and spouse, Lorraine was preceded in death by an infant child, Mary. Surviving are her children, Lisa Stankiewitch and her husband, Michael of Orwigsburg, Robert Dombrosky and his wife Sherri of Shenandoah, Jennifer Dombrosky and her life companion Pedro (George) Villegas of Shenandoah, John Paul Dombrosky and his wife Sandra of Shenandoah; eleven grandchildren, Michael Stankiewitch and his wife Terri of Orwigsburg, Matthew Stankiewitch of Phoenixville, Aaron Dombrosky and his wife Brittany of Shenandoah, Daniel Merva and his wife Natasha of Catawissa, and Joshua Dombrosky, Nicholas Merva, Julia Najera, Kevin Najera, Avery Dombrosky, Taylor Dombrosky and Brenna Dombrosky, all of Shenandoah; eight great-grandchildren, Ayva, Daniel Jr., Teagan and Celine Merva, Nathan, Grace and Logan Stankiewitch, and Julianna Sotilie; brothers, John Melnick and his wife Rita of Pine Grove, and Eugene Melnick and his wife Sharon in Florida; a sister and best friend, Roseanne Abrachinsky of Albrightsville; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 9, 2023 at 10:00 am in Divine Mercy Church, 232 West Cherry St., Shenandoah with the Very Reverend James Koury as the celebrant. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. A visitation for relatives and friends will be held on Friday morning from 8:00 am until 9:45 am at Walukiewicz-Oravtiz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah.
