Loretta F. (Zamonas) Kovalewski, 82 of 28 N. Chestnut St., Shenandoah passed away Monday at Grandview Health Homes, Danville.
Born in Brandonville on September 3, 1929 she was a daughter of the late William and Josephine (Szulczewski) Zamonas.
She was a retired garment worker having worked in the local garment industry.
Loretta was a devout member of the Holy Ghost Polish National Catholic Church, Shenandoah and the Blessed Sacrament Society of the parish.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband, Stanley Z. Kovalewski on August 8, 1984 and two brothers, William and Robert Zamonas.
Surviving are a sister, Theresa Petrusky and her husband Joseph of Catawissa; nieces, nephews and godchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9:45 am from Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:15 am in Holy Ghost Polish National Catholic Church, Shenandoah. Rev. Robert Plichta, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
Relatives and friends may call Wednesday morning at the funeral home from 8:30 am until time of service. There will be no calling hours Tuesday evening.
The family prefers donations to the Holy Ghost Polish National Catholic Church, Shenandoah.
Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, Shenandoah is in charge of the arrangements.
