Loretta (Kessler) Swetavage, 60 of Shenandoah passed away peacefully on Friday evening, January 14, 2022 at Geisinger St. Luke's Hospital, Orwigsburg.
Born at the former Ashland State Hospital on July 1, 1961, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Kessler and Alberta (Becker) Kessler Rydzy.
She was a 1980 graduate of Shenandoah Valley High School.
Loretta was employed in the local manufacturing industry and as a bartender at various local establishments.
She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed trips to the local casinos. Above all, she treasured the time spent with her family and friends.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her son, Vincent Swetavage, Jr.; her nephew, Bradley Dye and her companion of twelve years, Joseph Kurswidas.
Surviving are two sons, Anthony Swetavage of Shenandoah and David Dower of Mahanoy City; two sisters, Crystal Rydzy Dye her caregiver of Brandonville, Ringtown and Tina (Kessler) Shusko and her husband Brian of Virginia Beach, VA; aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Religious services will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 11:15 am at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. Rev. Mindy Heppe will officiate. Interment will follow in Odd Fellow's Cemetery, Frackville. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9:00 am until 11:15 am.
