Karen Ann Zulkowski, 52, of 100 Pennsylvania Ave., Shenandoah Heights, passed away Monday evening at her residence.

Born in Shenandoah, June 15, 1958, she was a daughter of Robert Krysiak and the late Mary Lou Schaaf DiGiorgio.

She was a graduate of Shenandoah Valley High School, Class of 1976. After receiving her degree in practical nursing, Karen worked as a licensed practical nurse in various local nursing homes.

She cherished her family and was a devout wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.

Karen is survived by her husband of 32 years, Michael J. Zulkowski; a son, Michael J. Zulkowski, at home; two daughters, Rhiannon Zulkowski and Katie Zulkowski, both of Shenandoah; four grandchildren, Robert Ryan, Kristopher Hanlon, and Jhianna and Jaden Meyer; five brothers, Joseph, Frank, John, Chris and Dominick DiGiorgio, all of the Philadelphia area; a sister, Marie Jaskierski, Frackville; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian officiating. Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah, is in charge of arrangements.
