Josephine D. (Buhowsky) Riley, age 95 of Shenandoah entered into eternal rest Friday at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.

Born in Shenandoah on August 12, 1917 she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Helen (Yacrhiewicz) Buhowsky.

She was educated in the Shenandoah area schools.

Josephine was a retired garment worker having last worked at the former Martin Shirt Factory, Shenandoah.

She was a devout member of Annunciation BVM Church, Shenandoah and the Rosary Society of the parish; the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Annunciation, Shenandoah; the Greater Shenandoah Area Senior Citizens and the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband, John J. Riley in 1976 and three brothers, Joseph, Robert and Anthony Buhowsky.

Surviving are her son, John E. Riley and his wife Kathleen of Carlisle; a sister, Colleen Harun of Shenandoah; two brothers, Bernard Buhowsky and his wife Zoe of Orefield and Stanley Buhowski and his wife Helen of Brick, NJ; five grandchildren, Denise Shoop and her husband Mark, John Riley, Robert Riley and his wife Tisa, Jessica Thrush and John David Thrush; four great-grandchildren, Shawn, Sophia, Sonny and Gian; two great-great-grandchildren, Kody and Makayla; in addition, many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. from Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Annunciation BVM Church, Shenandoah. Rev. Msgr. Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Casimirs Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.
