Obituary

Joseph A. Muntone, 86, of Bordentown, N.J., a former resident of Shenandoah, passed away peacefully Wednesday at Princeton Care Center, Princeton, N.J.

Born in Shenandoah, June 19, 1931, he was a son of the late Anthony and Assunta Bruno Muntone.

Joseph was a graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah.

He was anArmy veteran, having served during theKorean War.

He was a retired steel worker, having been last employed at US Steel Corp., Fairless Hills, and was a member of the United Steel Workers of America.

He was a member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, Shenandoah, and was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church, Trenton, N.J.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his wives, the former Catherine Medvetz, in 1966, and the former Mafalda Pronio, in 1997; a brother, James Muntone.

Surviving are a son, James Muntone and his wife, Shannon, Ewing, N.J.; two grandsons, Zachary and Nathaniel Muntone; two brothers, Monsignor Anthony Muntone, Allentown, and John Muntone and his wife, Carol, Jersey City, N.J.; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to a attend a concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, August 25 at 9:00 am in Divine Mercy Church, 230 W. Cherry St., Shenandoah with his brother, Monsignor Anthony Muntone as the principal celebrant. Interment with military honors will follow in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. There will be no viewing or visitation prior to the mass at the funeral home or the church.

Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah, is in charge of the arrangements.
