Joseph P. Horse Womer, Sr. age 53 of 146 N. Second St., Girardville passed Tuesday at his residence.

Born in Pottsville on February 1, 1959 he was the son of the late Raymond and Mary Coldren Womer.

Joseph was a graduate of St. Clair High School Class of 1978.

Horse was the owner and operator of the Jiffy Mart & Horseshoe Amusements both of Girardville.

He was an active member of various social and civic organizations in the Girardville area.

Surviving are two sons Joseph P. Womer, Jr. and Austin R. Womer both of Mar Lin; two daughters Kelly Cortes of Jacksonville, NC and Tia Caruso of Pottsville; one brother Harry Haldeman of Skippack; three sisters, Mary Womer Purcell and Barbara Tokarick both of Shenandoah and Dorothy Schane of Richmond, VA; grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Scripture services will be held on Saturday at 12:00 noon from Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. Rev. Edward B. Connolly will officiate.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Saturday morning from 9:00 am until 12:00 noon. There will be no calling hours on Friday evening.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
