Joseph C. Gervalis, age 63 of 109 N. White Street, Shenandoah passed away unexpectedly Saturday morning at his residence.

Born in Shenandoah on January 24, 1949 he was the son of the late Joseph and Thelma (Hackenburg) Gervalis.

Joe was a 1966 graduate of the former Shenandoah Catholic High School.

He worked in the shipping and receiving department of Hexcel Corporation, St. Clair.

Joe was a member of St. Stanislaus Church, Shenandoah. He was a former coach of the Shenandoah Little League and the Shenandoah Area Girls Softball League.

Surviving are his wife, the former Louise A. Pavlosky of forty-one years; a son, Joseph Gervalis, Jr. and his wife Roxann of Shenandoah Heights; a daughter, Lori wife of Robert Hoffman of Shenandoah; six cherished grandchildren, Katie, Erin, Meghan, Joseph, Alyssa and Hayden; a brother, Harry Gervalis and his wife Cathy of Shenandoah; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 9:30 am from Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 am in St. Stanislaus Church. Rev. Msgr. Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.

Relatives and friends may call Wednesday evening from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
