Joseph L. Galezniak, 67 of Ringtown passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023 surrounded by his family in his home.
Born in Shenandoah on September 5, 1955, he was a son of the late Teofil L. and Mary (Usalis) Galezniak.
He was a 1973 graduate of Shenandoah Valley High School.
Joe was a retired pipefitter having been a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 524, Scranton.
He was a member of the Polish American Fire Company, Shenandoah, the Park Crest Fish and Games Protective Association, Brandonville and the Shenandoah Fish and Game Protective Association, Zion Grove. Joe enjoyed the outdoors. He also enjoyed listening to the polkas and oldies. Joe had a great sense of humor and always had a good joke to offer. But above all, he cherished the time spent with his family.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his brother, Teofil S. "Chenny" Galezniak and his nephew, Joseph "JoJo" Stankavage.
Surviving are his wife of forty years, the former Sandra "Sandy" Colosimo; three daughters, Joelle Hysock and her husband Jason of Shenandoah Heights, Kristina Redanauer and her husband Shawn of Shenandoah Heights and Kimberly McAndrew and her husband Brian of Gordon; step-daughter, Kelly Brennan and her husband Tony of Ringtown; step-son, Ted Buriak III and his wife Dawnmarie of Catawissa; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Louis Galezniak and his wife Sharon of Florida; sister, Mary Lou "Tootsie" Stankavage and her husband Joe of Phinneyville; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Religious services will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 11:00 am at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 South Jardin Street, Shenandoah with Rev. Robert Plichta officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Ghost Polish National Catholic Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. A viewing will be held on Wednesday morning from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at the funeral home.
