John R. Wheelie Lawrence, 58 of Shenandoah passed away Sunday.
Born in Shenandoah on April 13, 1953 he was a son of the late Elwood W. and Clara (Lubyck) Lawrence and he was raised by his loving grandmother, the late Clara Fell of William Penn.
He was a graduate of Mahanoy Area High School.
Earlier, John worked as a lab technician for the former Zapata Industries, Frackville. Later, he worked at Eagle Rock Valley of the Lakes for several years as a state licensed sewage treatment plant operator. Most recently John was employed by Redco as group home manager.
He was a life member of the William Penn Fire Company and a member of the Park Crest Fish and Game Association.
Surviving are one sister, Sharon Lubyck of Albuquerque, NM; one brother, Andrew Lubyck; a niece, Andreanna Lubyck and his uncle, John Fell all of Florida.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service Saturday 10:00 am at the William Penn United Methodist Church where he was a member and lay minister. Rev. Margaret Marshman will officiate. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, Shenandoah is in charge of the arrangements.
