Obituary

John P. "Jack" Slatick, 85 of Harrisburg formerly of Shenandoah passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center, Camp Hill. Born in Shenandoah on February 21, 1939, he was a son of the late Peter and Anna (Bartasiewicz) Slatick. Jack was a 1956 graduate the former Shenandoah Catholic High School. Mr. Slatick was a decorated Army veteran. He received the Good Conduct Medal and the Marksman (Rifle M-14) Badge. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) as an analyst. Jack was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah and the former Saint Stanislaus Church. He was a generous benefactor and volunteer especially for the annual bazaars and other parish fundraisers. He was also a member of the Men of Malvern. In addition, he was a volunteer for Pinnacle Hospital and the YMCA, both in Harrisburg. Jack had a kind and generous spirit and was always considerate of others. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents was his brother, Eugene Slatick. Surviving are his niece, Carol Slatick of Silver Spring, Maryland and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to attend graveside religious services with military honors on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at 10:00 in Saint Stanislaus Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
