John P. Jack Holden, age 84 of 542 E. Lloyd St., Shenandoah passed away Sunday evening at his residence.

Born in Shenandoah on June 2, 1928 he was the son of the late Peter and Elizabeth (Brennan) Holden.

Mr. Holden was a member of Annunciation BVM Church, Shenandoah.

Prior to his retirement, Jack was the sexton for the Annunciation BVM Church and Cemetery, Shenandoah. Earlier he worked for the former Columbia Brewery, Shenandoah.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were three brothers, Patrick, Joseph and Francis Holden and three sisters, Helen Shatalsky, Catherine Koperaincluding his twin sister, Margaret Nolan.

Surviving are his wife of forty-five years, the former Ruth Walker; two daughters, Donna Bulvin of North Port, FL and Patti Zackaravage of Shenandoah; one son, John Holden of Pottsville; two granddaughters, Jennifer Bulvin of Crofton, MD and Lindsey Zackaravage of Shenandoah; nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Friday morning at 10:00 am in Annunciation BVM Church, Shenandoah. Fr. Johnson, O.S.J., Parochial Vicar will officiate. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.

There will be no viewing or services from the funeral home.
