John P. Gantz, 74, of Shenandoah, passed away peacefully Friday, July 15, 2022, at his residence. Born in Shenandoah, on July 13, 1948, he was the son of the late John S. and Nellie A. (Somolis) Gantz. He was a 1966 graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah. John was employed as foundry worker for Rockwell International, Reading. He was a caretaker for St. Stanislaus and St. Casimir cemeteries, Shenandoah Heights. Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, was his wife, the former Ann Marie Steele. Surviving are two sons, John J. Gantz and his wife, Kathy, of Ringtown, and Paul D. Gantz and his wife, Lynn, of Pine Grove; two daughters, Brenda M. Polgrean, of Lancaster, and Gloria A. Keck and her husband, Karl, of Orwigsburg; seven grandchildren, Cameron Gantz, Tyler Gantz, Andrew Gantz, Joshua Gantz, Autumn Gantz, Dylan Keck and Makayla Keck; nieces, nephews and cousins. Services and interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah, is in care of the arrangements.
