Jean Marie (Thompson) Langford, age 75 of 3345 Old 22, Hamburg passed away peacefully Friday morning at her residence surrounded by her family.
Born in Shenandoah on October 8, 1937 she was a daughter of the late Walter and Sarah (Steele) Thompson.
Jean was a graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah.
Prior to her retirement, she worked as a nursing aide at the Hamburg Center.
She was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Hamburg and the Hamburg Senior Citizens.
Surviving are her husband, William Langford with whom she would have celebrated 57 years of marriage on July 28th; two daughters, Lisa Fisher and her husband Glenn of Hamburg and Lana Lewis and her husband, Jacob of West Lawn; four grandchildren, Bradley Fisher and his wife Katherine, Kenneth Fisher, Mason and Sara Lewis; a great-grandson, Riley Fisher; a sister, Elizabeth Ushock of Linden, NJ; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Religious and scripture services will be held Tuesday at 11:30 am at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. Rev. Dr. John Reid will officiate. Interment will follow in the German Protestant Cemetery, Mahanoy City.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to the American Cancer Society, Berks Office, 498 Bellevue Ave., Reading, Pennsylvania 19605.
Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, Shenandoah is in charge of the arrangements.
