Jean M. (Tankalavage) Kaczynski, age 82 of Wernersville and a former resident of Shenandoah passed away Monday at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center.
Born in Shenandoah on April 4, 1930 she was the daughter of the late Frank and Jennie (Gudinas) Tankalavage.
Jean was a graduate of the former Frackville High School Class of 1948.
She was a retired garment worker having worked in the local garment industry and was a member of the ILGWU.
Jean was a member of St. Casimirs Church, Shenandoah.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband Frank B. Kaczynski in 1986 and a brother Frank Tankalavage.
She is the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are a son Frank J. Kaczynski and his wife Lucy of Pottsville; two grandchildren, Jody and Crystal; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 12:00 Noon from Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St, Shenandoah. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 pm in St. Casimirs Church, Shenandoah. Rev. Msgr. Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Casimirs Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 10:00 AM until time of service.
Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, Shenandoah is in charge of the arrangements.
