James A. "Jimmy" Pellegrino, 60, of Shenandoah passed away on Wednesday morning at his residence.

Born in Shenandoah, March 22, 1957, he was a son of the late Natale and Assunta (Olivetto) Pellegrino

Jim was a 1975 graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah.

He was last employed at Jeld-Wen, Ringtown. Earlier, he worked in sales at the former Ufberg's Furniture Store, Shenandoah.

On Nov. 23, 1985, in the Primitive Methodist Church, Shenandoah, he married his wife, the former Darlene Gozditis, who survives.

Jim was very proud of his Italian heritage; he was a devout member of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Shenandoah. He tirelessly volunteered his time and talents, especially his culinary and cooking skills for the annual church feast and various other parish fundraisers throughout the years. He was currently a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah, where he continued cooking for the annual block party and dinners.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were a brother, Russell Pellegrino, and two sisters, Eleanor Testen and Jean Kutsko.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of almost 32 years, Darlene Pellegrino, are a daughter, Nicollette Sosna and her spouse, Netty, Shenandoah; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Casimir's Church, 229 N. Jardin St., Shenandoah, the Sacred Worship Site of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah. Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 8 until 10 a.m. Monday in St. Casimir's Church.
