Irene F. (Williams) Bryk, 97 of Shenandoah Heights passed away Friday at Ridgeview Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center, Shenandoah Heights.

She was a 1935 graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah.Born in Shenandoah on October 11, 1916, she was a daughter of the late Enoch Williams and the late Mary Williams Kovalesky.

Irene was a retired garment worker in the local garment industry.She had served as secretary and chairlady for the former ILGWU.

Mrs. Bryk was the oldest member of St. Stanislaus Church, Shenandoah.Throughout her life, she was always actively involved in parish activities and events.She was a member of the Holy Rosary Society and the Holy Name Society of the parish and was a former member of its choir.She was president of the Polish Womens Alliance Group 398.She held the offices of vice-president and treasurer in the Polish Womens Social Club as well as chairlady of its Glee club.Irene was the Main Belle of the Centennial Chapter #1 Polka Belles.She was also a member of the Greater Shenandoah Area Senior Citizens and the Schuylkill County Choraliers.

Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband, Henry P. Bryk, Sr. on August 2, 1996; her daughter-in-law, Shirley A. Bryk; three brothers and four sisters.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Surviving are one son, Henry P. Bryk, Jr., Melbourne, Florida; one daughter, Joanne Kutchinsky and her fianc Robert Sanko, Shenandoah Heights; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah Wednesday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of services.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 10:30 AM from the funeral home.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM in St. Stanislaus Church, Shenandoah. Rev. Msgr. Ronald C. Bocian, Pastor will officiate.Interment will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
