Hobart D. "Hobie" Lomas, Jr., 82, of Hatboro, and a former resident of Turkey Run, Shenandoah, passed away Wednesday at his residence.

Born in Turkey Run, Shenandoah, Feb. 20, 1934, he was a son of the late Hobart D. Sr. and Mary (Ondusko) Lomas.

He was a graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah.

He was a decorated Korean War Navy veteran.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a machinist for StandardPressed Steel in Jenkintown.

Hobie was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Shenandoah, and the American Legion Post 798, Hatboro.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Theresa A. "Teri" Nine, July 10, 2011; a brother, George B. Lomas Sr., May 30, 2007; a nephew, George B. Lomas Jr., July 6, 2004.

Surviving are a daughter, Patricia Ann Swartz and her husband, Gary, Wake Forest, N.C.; two grandsons, Kyle and Justin Swartz; three sisters, Ester Lomas Okarma, Turkey Run, Shenandoah, Mary Suzanne Buckanavage, Niantic, Conn., and Lois Sarah Lomas, Shenandoah; a stepson, Paul J. Moore, Littleton, Colo.; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A religious services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. The Rev. Mindy Heppe, pastor, will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday.
