Helen H. Shoup, 92, of the Village Apartments, 200 E. Coal St., Shenandoah, and formerly of South Jardin Street, Shenandoah, passed away Wednesday morning at Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street.

Born in William Penn, West Mahanoy Township, June 29, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Charles Ellis and Elizabeth (Brokenshire) Shoup.

She was a graduate of West Mahanoy Township High School.

Earlier, she worked as a sales clerk for the former Reilly's Appliance Store and later, the former F.W. Woolworth Company, both of Shenandoah.

Helen was a member of and active volunteer at the First United Methodist Church, Shenandoah, and a former member of the United Methodist Women of the church.

Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were a brother, Charles Shoup; and two sisters, Elizabeth "Betty" Shoup and Mary Dorothy Klinger.

Surviving are her caregiver, Charles Savage, Girardville; and stepnieces.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. The Rev. Christopher Wollyung, pastor of First United Methodist Church, Shenandoah, will officiate. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
